Sounds like they had a ball.
Kith founder Ronnie Fieg celebrated his new position as creative director of the New York Knicks by throwing a star-studded private dinner on Friday, an insider tells Page Six.
The streetwear brand’s CEO hosted the VIP dinner at Tao Group Hospitality’s forthcoming Japanese restaurant Sake No Hana at the Moxy hotel on the Lower East Side.
Notable guests at the event included Tiësto, Victor Cruz, Major Food Group co-founders Mario Carbone and Jeff Zalaznick, and artist Daniel Arsham.
Also there was DJ Cassidy, Zack Bia, and Miami hospitality guru David Grutman.
We’re told the dinner was an intimate gathering of about 60 people.
“It was mellow as most people had come from the long Knicks game which they thankfully won,” the source said, adding that festivities settled a little after midnight. Attendees were the first to taste the soon-to-open restaurant’s menu including selections of sushi and yakitori.
And we hear the celebratory dinner doubled as a birthday party for Cruz, who turned 36 on Friday.
Prior to the ritzy fête, Fieg was seen sitting courtside alongside Sienna Miller, Jadakiss, Jerry Ferrera, and Fat Joe at Madison Square Garden to watch the Knicks play the Detroit Pistons.
The evening, dubbed “Kith Night,” saw Knicks team members debut the Kith-designed 2022-2023 City Edition Uniforms, which took inspiration from the 1999-2003 Knicks uniform, “thus bridging the gap between past and present,” a press release states.
Upon entry, fans were gifted a copy of the Kith for SLAM Commemorative Knicks Magazine, as well as towels created with the Knicks and Stella Artois. Concession stands throughout the arena served beverages in co-branded Kith for Knicks cups.
Fieg was appointed the NBA team’s first-ever creative director earlier that day.
“This new role will see Fieg take on new responsibilities with the team and will focus on building a community around an international brand,” Kith said in a statement on their website. “He will also develop an in-house line of products and oversee extenuating creative around the team.”
The Kith x Knicks collection includes Kith-branded Knicks attire including bomber jackets, hoodies, T-shirts, baseball hats, beanies, basketball shorts, and a gold chain.
